The SAFD is the Society of American Fight Directors, an organization of dedicated artists whose purpose is to promote safety and foster excellence in the art of performing, teaching, and directing staged combat/theatrical violence.
Welcome to Open Gate Movement Arts! Our mission is to provide high-quality, accessible stage combat and theatrical movement training in Chicago. They establish their classrooms as environments to nurture, educate and encourage creative individuals to achieve their highest level of success.

For over 25 years, Fight Directors Canada has worked to promote and maintain a national standard of safety and aesthetics in the art of fight choreography as an integral part of the entertainment industry: to educate, train, examine and confer grades of proficiency on its members, to safeguard the diversity, interests and concerns of those members, and to inform the general public of the safety and aesthetics of well choreographed fight sequences for television, film and theatre.

Dueling Arts International is committed to the highest standards of safety and artistic integrity for stage, film and television, and serve ideals which promote self confidence, engender care and mutual respect, advocate health and fitness, and integrate complementary movement disciplines. To meet these goals, they offer affordable movement training opportunities worldwide for theatrical artists and the general public.
The Stage Combat Minor provides extensive practice in the art form of theatrical violence. Our alumni currently perform live on professional stages across the nation and on film sets as stunt performers.
